Green Beauty Smoothie

This smoothie is definitely one of my go-to smoothies any time and day of the week. For weekdays before work I always make myself a smoothie for breakfast and this recipe has been made on average at least 2-3 times a week for the past two years.  This smoothie is so quick and easy to whip up it makes for the perfect breakfast when your busy and crunched for time.

I call this smoothie the ‘green beauty’ simply because the ingredients in it will make you glow from the inside out.  This green beauty smoothie is super satisfying, filling and delicious.  Smoothie texture is huge for me. Ever had a smoothie that tasted watery like a juice? That’s an unsatisfying smoothie in my books.  Ever had a smoothie that was so thick you could barely drink it through a straw? That’s a smoothie that will most likely make me gag. I like my smoothies to be exactly what the name calls for smooth.  This smoothie is exactly that. It’s smooth, creamy, and has the perfect consistency; not too thin and not too thick.  It’s also perfectly sweet and doesn’t have ‘too green’ of a taste.

Green Beauty Smoothie

  • 1 banana frozen
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1/4 pineapple
  • 1 cup ice*


  1. place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth

Recipe Notes

*ice really helps to create the perfect texture in this smoothie so its important not to skip this ingredient. Green smoothies also taste better when they're cold.

How does this smoothie make you glow?

Avocados: are the real winner here.  They contain healthy fats (please don’t be afraid of that!), vitamins and antioxidants that all make you glow from the inside out. The healthy fats make your skin soft and hydrated.  Avocados are high in vitamin E that helps prevent aging by preventing free radical damage.  They also contain antioxidants that improves the skin tone and texture.

Pineapple: is very high in vitamin C, which creates collagen and makes your skin appear more firm.  It also helps improve digestion that helps clear acne.

Bananas: are such an incredible fruit. They contain B vitamins, Vitamin A, Vitamin E and zinc just to name a few.  All these vitamins help reduce acne, hydrate the skin, and protect the skin from aging.

Kale: detoxifies and cleanses the body internally, which creates glowing skin externally. Kale also helps make your hair stronger and grow faster.

Coconut water: is pure magic.  It hydrates you to keep your skin healthy and contains potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
